Repairing More Than What You Can See
Collision damage can affect more than your vehicle’s appearance. Lane & Kenny Body Shop provides complete collision and structural repair focused on restoring proper alignment, fit, function, and safety.
A Proper Repair Starts Beneath the Surface
Even when collision damage appears minor, the impact may affect mounting points, suspension components, structural panels, or the alignment of the vehicle’s body.
Our repair process begins with a careful inspection and a documented repair plan. We identify visible and hidden damage, measure affected areas, and determine the proper steps needed to restore the vehicle.
From exterior panel replacement to structural correction and final refinishing, our team keeps the entire repair process coordinated under one roof.
Everything Needed to Restore Your Vehicle
Every collision is different. Our team develops a repair plan based on the location and severity of the damage, the construction of the vehicle, and the procedures required for the affected components.
Structural Repair
Measurement and correction of damaged frame or unibody areas to restore proper vehicle dimensions and component alignment.
Panel Repair and Replacement
Damaged exterior panels are repaired when practical or replaced when the condition of the panel requires it.
Welding and Panel Attachment
Replacement components are installed using the appropriate welding, bonding, fastening, and corrosion-protection methods.
Suspension and Steering
Related suspension and steering damage is inspected so the vehicle can track, steer, and handle properly after repairs.
Paint and Refinishing
Repaired and replacement panels are prepared, color matched, refinished, polished, and inspected for a consistent appearance.
Final Quality Control
Panel fit, operation, appearance, repair details, and overall vehicle condition are reviewed before the vehicle is released.
From Initial Inspection to Final Delivery
A complete repair requires coordination between estimating, disassembly, structural work, body repair, refinishing, reassembly, and inspection.
Inspect and Document
We inspect the visible damage, take supporting photos, and document the areas involved in the collision.
Disassemble and Measure
Damaged areas are disassembled as needed to identify hidden damage and verify vehicle measurements.
Structural and Body Repair
Structural components, body panels, mounting areas, and related damage are repaired according to the repair plan.
Refinish and Reassemble
Repaired panels are refinished before trim, lighting, hardware, and other removed components are reinstalled.
Inspect and Deliver
The completed vehicle receives a final review for fit, finish, operation, cleanliness, and repair quality.
Measured, Corrected, and Verified
Modern vehicles rely on carefully engineered structural areas to manage collision energy and maintain proper alignment. Restoring those areas requires more than making the exterior look straight.
Computerized Measuring
Digital measuring equipment helps compare vehicle dimensions and identify structural movement.
Controlled Structural Correction
Damaged structural areas are corrected using professional repair and pulling equipment.
Verified Vehicle Dimensions
Measurements are checked throughout the repair to confirm that affected areas have been properly restored.
Corrosion Protection
Seam sealers, coatings, and cavity protection are restored where required during the repair.
Our Final Quality Review
Before delivery, the repair is reviewed for appearance, operation, fit, and overall completion.
Panel Fit and Alignment
Doors, hoods, deck lids, bumpers, lights, and repaired panels are inspected for proper fit and consistent gaps.
Finish and Color Review
Painted surfaces are checked for color consistency, gloss, cleanliness, and overall appearance.
Component Operation
Lighting, doors, windows, handles, trim, warning indicators, and other affected features are checked as applicable.
Final Vehicle Inspection
The completed repair is reviewed before the vehicle is cleaned, prepared, and released to the customer.
Collision Repair FAQs
Can damage be hidden behind the exterior panels?
Yes. Bumper covers, trim, liners, and body panels can hide damage to supports, brackets, reinforcement components, mounting points, wiring, sensors, and structural areas. Additional damage is often discovered during disassembly.
Does every collision require structural repair?
No. Some repairs involve only exterior panels or cosmetic damage. We inspect and measure the vehicle as appropriate to determine whether structural areas have been affected.
What is the difference between a frame and a unibody vehicle?
A traditional frame vehicle uses a separate frame beneath the body. A unibody vehicle incorporates much of its structural strength into the body itself. Both designs require accurate inspection and repair when structural areas are damaged.
Will you work with my insurance company?
Yes. Lane & Kenny can help provide estimates, damage documentation, photos, supplements, and other repair information requested during the claims process.
How long will my collision repair take?
Repair time depends on the amount of damage, required parts, insurance authorization, disassembly findings, and the work needed to complete the repair. We will provide more specific timing after the vehicle has been inspected and the repair plan has been developed.
Can I choose Lane & Kenny to repair my vehicle?
Yes. You may choose the repair facility you trust. Let your insurance provider know that you would like Lane & Kenny Body Shop to perform the repair.
